Standfirst

This month we go deeper into Real-World Assets and tokenization — what the actual structure looks like once the legal, operational, and on-chain pieces have to work together. Plus IRL recaps from Consensus Miami and what's coming in June.

Being a founder is not easy. We know.

You have to build the product, find the users, raise the capital, pick the right jurisdiction, stay compliant, and still keep shipping.

That is why, in this month's issue of The Otonomist, we go deeper into one of the themes that keeps coming back in founder conversations: Real-World Assets and tokenization.

Many builders want to tokenize assets. Fewer know what the actual structure looks like once the legal, operational, and on-chain pieces have to work together. This month, we look at one concrete way to make it real: vaults.

We also share a few highlights from a busy month of IRL events in May, and look ahead to what is coming next in June.

You do not have to figure everything out alone. That is what we are here for.

§ 2Decentralized Learning

2.1How to actually create a tokenized asset

RWA and tokenization are no longer just conference-stage narratives.

According to CoinDesk, tokenized real-world assets excluding stablecoins crossed $25 billion in on-chain value in March 2026.

Big numbers are exciting. But they can also freeze founders.

The real question is not only "How big can this market become?" The real question is: how do you actually structure a tokenized asset so it works in the real world?

In this video, Otonomos founder Han Verstraete explains how an old DeFi structure — the vault — can be used to receive real-life assets when paired with the proper legal setup.

The point is simple: tokenization is not just a smart contract problem. It is a legal, operational, and structural problem too.

§ 3New Developments

3.1AI Corporate Agent 2.0

AI Chat functionality has been expanded. Our AI will share your company status, outstanding payments and filings. It will redirect you to forms that need to be filled out and serve up payment links if you want to complete a corporate action. All of this is done securely after you've been authenticated through the chat.

This is only the beginning of navigating the Otonomos Dashboard using AI!

3.2Entity Maintenance Made Easy

Filling out annual filing documents got a lot easier. Instead of downloading a template you can now simply fill it out, sign it and submit it straight from the browser — no need to download and upload templates anymore.

Keep an eye out for prefilled data very soon so you only need to fill out the bare minimum.

3.3Dashboard Fine Tuning

Even though we recently shipped a total redesign of our website and dashboard we always keep looking to fine tune the UX and UI so you can navigate the dashboard with ease. You'll notice a stylized org chart and subtle improvements throughout.

3.4Back End Fine Tuning

UX is not always visible. Our developers worked hard to tighten information flow between systems, making communication more effective. The result is quicker turnaround times for fulfillment.

§ 4Otonomos IRL

May was a full month of events, meetings, and founder conversations.

And once again, we were reminded of something simple: everything is better in person.

Hosting a free event is always a risk. You never fully know who will show up, what conversations will happen, or whether the room will have the right energy.

But when it works, the value is hard to replicate online.

The conversations, intros, and networking we saw throughout May were exactly why we keep showing up IRL.

4.1Founder × Investor Sunset Soirée by Pairty & Otonomos

This was one of the clear highlights of May.

During Consensus in Miami, Pairty and Otonomos brought together founders, VCs, and crypto builders for an intimate, invite-only evening by the bay.

The setting was beautiful. The crowd was sharp. The conversations were even better.

If there was one sentence we heard again and again, it was: "Come here, you need to meet this person."

More than 300 people registered, and 50 attendees joined us for an evening designed around high-signal conversations and real introductions.

A special thank you to Pairty for partnering with us on this event.

4.2Basketball Pick Up Game @ Consensus Miami 🇺🇸

The other big highlight was already becoming an Otonomos classic.

Our new business development force Anton Kupranov, together with Cole-Frieman & Mallon, Cayman Finance, AKKA Studio, Pagga.io, and Otonomos, helped organize one of the most unexpected events of Consensus Miami.

No panels. No screens. Just founders, builders, lawyers, investors, and operators getting out of the conference loop and onto the court.

Because sometimes the best business development does not happen in a meeting room. Sometimes it happens while hooping.

More than 100 participants showed up, proving once again that crypto devs can play. We hope to see even more of you at the next one.
